Greetings from Mikkeli, Finland’s largest holiday villa area situated in the middle of Finland, so called LakeLand! This is my second last businesstrip to Finland before I stop working to S-Group in the middle of June 2016.
Nature offers great playground for kids and adults. Here I’m throwing cones down to rock with my daughter.
I’ve been visiting in my parent’s summercottage since I was 12 years old, 25 years ago! During these years summercottage has offered me place to share moments with my grandmother Siiri, with my parents Reino & Seija, with my bigbrother Petri and his family, with many many friends of mine and last but not least, with love of my life, my husband Timo.
Coffee cup full of memories.
Thought my parents have been renovating the place during the years and cottage is nowadays equipped with electricity, it’s not too modernized. Drinking water needs to be carried, toilet is cottage-style outdoor-toilet, sauna get warm with wood and dishes needs to be washed by hands. All these small details are so far away from my everyday life that exploring those, means new experiences and even new luxus for me!
This weekend I was honored to show the paradise of silence to my 3 years old daughter Line. Cottagelife is extremely good learning environment both for adults and kids who are used to live easy modern life with all facilities around. Why you need to save warm water in sauna the next ones? Why you need to warm up sauna, can’t you just turn on the electric? These issues I was happy to talk with my girl last weekend.

Line and her grandmother handwashing dishes together.
Planning new type of nature-based holiday packages and activities is one of my dreams, I can easily see myself doing in my next job in Denmark starting from autumn 2016. Please feel free to ask me for a coffee to talk more about how can I help your company to develope the services available for your customers!
p.s This Visit Finland’s great video tells more than 1000 words about cottagelife in Finland.
